Senior Survey

Spring (May) 2022 Graduates

For our Spring 2022 graduating seniors, the Texas A&M Industrial Distribution Program collected data through our Graduating Senior Exit Survey.  All responses to the survey were optional. The Career Center also collected data on graduation day. We tend to have a higher answer rate with our survey and have more immediate access to the data. Below are summaries of various data.

172 graduating seniors responded to our survey.
138 were male (80%)
34 were female (20%)

JOB PLACEMENT

Out of the 172 responses to the Job Placement Questions:

138 reported “Have a job offer/employed after graduation”
7 reported “Currently Negotiating”
19 reported “Do not have a job/job offer yet”

SALARY

115 reported a starting salary (it was optional to report one)

Starting salary range: $20,000 to $100,000

Average starting salary reported: $62,374

After removing military and ministry salaries, due to the tendency for lower salaries:

Average starting salary in traditional industry job was $62,729

These figures are influenced by students going into sales related positions reporting their base salary only (commission is unknown). Typically, sales related and operations management related positions will start around $48k + commission to $60k + commission. Supply chain related positions usually begin around $55k to $70k. There is much more room for salary acceleration with sales related positions versus supply chain related positions, thus the difference in beginning compensation.
