WMC Industrial is looking for candidates for a technical outside sales role in The Woodlands TX area. At WMC, our mission is to Reinforce the World to BUILD DREAMS. **This position is available only in The Woodlands, TX and candidates preferably reside in Houston area.

 

*Familiarity with Spanish language preferred but not required.

 

The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate who is pro-active and eager to learn. You must be comfortable managing client accounts and working closely with upper management, logistics, and engineering teams. This position is junior-level, however the candidate will have the opportunity to undergo training with other managers and C-suite members of the Industrial Wire division.

 

After the training period that allows the candidate to become familiarized with the product and industry, the goal is for the candidate to develop their own client accounts while maintaining current ones across the United States. The most successful candidates are self-starters, high energy, and eager to learn about the steel industry. Candidate must feel comfortable traveling via car or plane for customer visits and sales calls.

 

Responsibilities

  • Daily prospecting (and cold calling) to develop new accounts across various manufacturing industries including: display, shopping cart, and construction sectors.
  • Create strategic pricing and loyalty programs to improve customer retention and increase sales.
  • Monitor fluctuations in the raw material markets (rod and scrap) and set pricing based on supply & demand.
  • Work closely with engineering and purchasing teams to meet product requirements and timelines.
  • Regularly collaborate with engineering, management and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills, customer service, phone skills, problem solving.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Distribution, Business, Engineering or Communications fields
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Comfortable receiving ongoing performance feedback and coaching
  • Moderate travel required to visit plant locations and customers
